With us you can buy solenoid valves made of stainless steel at low prices, because we specialize in trading valves for a wide variety of applications. Our large warehouse enables short delivery times.
Solenoid valves contain a coil that, when energized, creates a magnetic field, which either opens or closes the valve. The flow of a liquid or a gas can thus be stopped or released. Valves that work according to this principle switch relatively quickly and are easy to control. In this category you will find stainless steel solenoid valves from the manufacturer M&M International. The valve body as well as the valve seat and the armature are made of this material, which guarantees high resistance to many media and aggressive substances. What the valve is suitable for also depends on the material of the seal. The materials for seals differ in terms of their resistance to certain media and their suitability for different temperature ranges. You can find more detailed information in the product data sheet. Here you can see some examples of suitable sealing materials depending on the medium:
The A80 version of the FKM sealing material is also used in the food industry and in catering. Valves with a Kalrez seal are suitable for many applications within a wide temperature range. They are characterized by their high resistance to various, sometimes aggressive, media. They are used in many areas of industry, including chemistry.
The valves in this category are available in six different connection sizes, namely in 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" according to ISO 228-1. When searching for a product, you can filter according to the connection size you need. Another filter option relates to the 2-way or 3-way valve options in conjunction with the normal switching position NC or NO. 2/2 way means that the valve has two connections, inlet and outlet, and that two switching positions are possible with "open" and "closed". The first number in this designation indicates the number of connections and the second number the possible switch positions. Valves with the designation 3/2 ways have three connections, one input and two outputs. Since the armature of the coil can alternately seal two valve seats with the help of sealing pistons, one outlet is always open when the other is closed. This means that the medium can be forwarded to two different circles. The terms NO and NC stand for "normally open" and "normally closed". This is the switching position of the valve in the normal state without power supply. One also speaks of normally open NO and normally closed NC.
The flow rate for which the valve is designed can be seen from the Kvs value, which you can also find in the product description. This is given in liters per minute and describes the maximum possible flow. This value depends on the nominal size, the narrowest point in the valve. The nominal size and the permissible differential pressure range are also recorded in the product data sheet. The differential pressure describes the pressure difference between the valve inlet and outlet. Since it is a relative size, it is given in barg (bar gauge), always with the minimum and maximum value. Since this permissible range depends on the force of the magnetic coil, the values for DC voltage and AC voltage coils differ for some models. Various coils are available for many valves: for direct or alternating current and for various voltages. The coils can be exchanged without any problems. You can also order a valve without a coil.
Note the temperature ranges for which a valve is suitable, as overheating can damage it. On the one hand, the permissible temperature of the medium, which mainly depends on the sealing material, is important. But the ambient temperature also plays a role, as heat is generated especially when operating very powerful coils. You can find information on the permissible temperature ranges in the product data sheet, as well as the degree of protection. This is specified as IP 65 for the stainless steel solenoid valves. This designation provides information about the ambient conditions under which the valve may be used. IP stands for "International Protection" because it is an international standard. The 6 as the first digit indicates that the valve is dust-tight and may be touched. The 5 as the second digit indicates that water jets will not cause damage from any angle. Nevertheless, during installation, make sure that there is no excessive humidity, as this can shorten the life of the coils. If possible, condensation should not occur or at least be able to dry out in a short time. Valves that are not only suitable for air and water, but also for aggressive media, can be bought cheaply at Fluid24. Our large warehouse guarantees a short delivery time.
